The vision and the thought

His painting is not one with aesthetic tendencies, it doesn't pursue at all costs the "basic/fundamental beauty" rather a "clear", "bare" and "essential" vision where nothing distracts the attention towards the subject. In this way the work of Franchini, even if it seems an echo of antique figurative instincts, shows a completely modern value which goes beyond the simple "lived datum". It puts this sequence of "fragments of lifes" in a precise context of thought which goes over the single personal events. In these portraits Franchini paints an humanity which seems to be contemporary but at the same time he is able to put them "out of time". This because what makes it far from today is that "thinking" aptitude and the thought becomes timeless.

Maurizio Scudiero

The painting of Tiziano Franchini concentrates on the portrait intended as a metaphor of the existence and of every vital relation. Child, man, woman, it doesn't matter: the person portrayed by Franchini attracts our attention with the peculiar pace of his humanity together with the explicit intensity of his character and with a baffling, disarming and plain availability. A painting that takes the responsibility to bring us the unrepeatable features of a face, a body, a story.
